2008 National Tourism Week, May 10 to 18

National Tourism Week, a collective effort across the U.S., celebrates the cultural and social benefits created by travel and tourism.

In San Antonio, travel and tourism is the city's second largest economic sector, with an estimated impact of $10.5 billion annually. It employs roughly 100,000 people and brings 26 million people a year to San Antonio.

Hospitality Day at Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Fiesta Texas will offer two (2) complimentary tickets and four (4) coupons for $25 (+tax) Adult General Admission, valid only on Sunday, May 11, 2008, for all employees of San Antonio hotels, attractions, CVB, Convention Center, local airlines, ground transportation. Tickets must be picked up at Six Flags Fiesta Texas between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. No tickets will be available at the front gate after 3:00 p.m. The Park is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Parking is $15. Employees must show current proof of employment and a photo ID (paycheck stub preferred) to receive the two (2) complimentary tickets.

The Robert H. H. Hugman Award was established to recognize people who have had a vision for enhancing and/or expanding the tourism industry in San Antonio.

 
Each year during National Tourism Week,San Antonio's hospitality industry recognizes one of its own for extraordinary contributions to the city and the industry.
 
We want to hear from you.
 
Who will you nominate for the Robert H. H. Hugman Award?

 
Criteria
  • Nominee has worked beyond the call of duty on the implementation of such vision without regard to personal advantage or self-enrichment.
  • Nominee was instrumental in promoting San Antonio as a tourist destination on a continuing basis, diligently encouraging and/or assisting in its implementation and development.

  • The nominee’s contributions to the Tourism Industry have made a significant promotional and economic impact in our City.
