Held on November 16, 2008, the inaugural San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and ½ Marathon had an economic impact on the City of San Antonio of $41.5 million, with nearly 707 jobs created, and more than $1.4 million in new tax revenues.
The economic impact study, conducted by Strategic Marketing Services and SportsEconomics for the San Antonio Sports Foundation, shows an estimated 25,170 runners participated while more than 59,000 spectators lined the 26.1 mile race route.
