Getting Around San Antonio

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT:

The San Antonio International Airport is approximately 8.5 miles from the downtown business district with a travel time of approximately 15 minutes by car.

Shuttle Service - Book your airport shuttle in advance to take advantage of discounts. Click here to reserve your shuttle.   If you don't make reservations in advance follow the signs in the baggage claim area to purchase shuttle service tickets.  Shuttle service to the downtown area is $18 one-way or $32 round-trip. For more information visit www.saairportshuttle.com. Reservations are required for the return trip to the airport.

Taxi rides  - Two to six ride for the price of one. Approximate fares, not including tips, to the downtown business district from the airport range from $24 - $26.  

GETTING AROUND TOWN

Streetcar - If you're in town for a few days and want to take advantage of the Streetcar, your best deal is to buy a One Day Pass for $3.75.   Order your pass online or stop by the Downtown Information Center or one of the outlet centers. When you get in town, pick up a streetcar brochure in your hotel lobby.  All four streetcar routes connect you to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

River Taxi - The River Taxi stops at 39 locations on the River Walk. Purchase a one-way pass for $4, 24-hour pass for $10 or a 3-day pass, $25.  Click here to see the river taxi route.   Look for the river cruiser with the black and yellow checkered flag.

Taxi - In the downtown area, there is a minimum charge of $5. Two - six people ride for the price of one.

The Sightseer Special Bus - The Sightseer Special (Bus 7)  runs daily between the city's favorite sites. You can travel to them all for one price. Locations visited by the Sightseer Special include: River Walk Streetcar Station, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Alamo, San Antonio Museum of Art, Japanese Tea Garden, Brackenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, Trinity University, University of Incarnate Word, Witte Museum and San Antonio Botanical Garden.
