Vanessa joined the CVB in November 2005 after serving ten years in the sports marketing industry. The daughter of a military colonel, she lived throughout the U. S. and abroad before choosing to establish her roots in San Antonio. Vanessa was an All-American swimmer at the University of Texas and a member of the U.S. Pentathlon national team. Her previous work experience includes six years with the San Antonio Sports Foundation and four years with the U.S. Olympic Committee. Vanessa believes that San Antonio’s finest characteristic is that it is a community in which you can get involved and make a difference. She is most proud of the work she has done as a board member of the Humane Society of Bexar County. When she is not working, she is outside with her two pups, Phoebe and Frampton, or taking a day trip to the Texas Hill Country.
