The San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau (SACVB) has been awarded a 2009 Gold Adrian Award for outstanding feature TV placement in public relations for “Today Show Takes a Vacation.” The SACVB was previously honored with two, 2008 Silver Adrian Awards for the brand launch of “San Antonio. Deep. In the Heart.”
The live, July 29, 2009 “Today Show” reached an audience of 39 million. Anchors Kathie Lee and Hoda broadcasted live from the River Walk's Arneson River Theater. The city received more than one hour of exposure in the U.S. and Canada, with segments sprinkled throughout the four-hour show.
“We’re thrilled with this honor,” said Scott White, Executive Director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. “‘Today Show Takes a Vacation’ was a great platform to share San Antonio. The River Walk, the outlying Hill Country, our music and cuisine—the city truly shined.”
Adrian Awards are presented by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), an international organization of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of hospitality, travel and tourism. The Adrian Awards honor creative brilliance and best practices in hospitality, travel and tourism related marketing.
