Fall Art Festivals kicks off in September and run though December, highlighting the San Antonio culture, arts, music, foods, and traditions.
September begins with Fotoseptiembre USA. Photographs that run the gamut from traditional to post modern are displayed. Photos for this event are presented in restaurants, galleries and venues citywide.
Jazz’SAlive is a two-day outdoor festival celebrating Jazz. Held on September 19-20 this year, it showcases local, regional, national and international jazz musicians. The event is held at Travis Park.
Celebrate the versatile accordion at the International Accordion Festival held on October 9-11 at La Villita. Presenting local, regional and global musicians this is one party guaranteed to make you want to dance. Different genres include; zydeco, polka, meringue and two-step. Enjoy a variety of performances, workshops, and jam sessions.
Dia de los Muertos is an ancient tradition from Central Mexico. Come celebrate your ancestors in San Antonio November 1 – 15. Traditions include processions, music, alters, calaveras and pan de muerto. Exhibits are citywide.
The New World Wine and Food Festival will be held on November 10 –15. Taste the “best of the best” foods and wines from around the world. Events are varied and held citywide. Festival tickets are all inclusive.
End the season with the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Events include a mariachi-inspired art exhibit, serenades by students at the historic River Walk, workshops and mariachi competitions.
